It is noted the platform contains 4 default facilitators types (Sub admin, Tutor, Content Editor, Institute Manager) which can be chosen via the dropdown menu. The respective authorizations of these facilitators cannot be viewed or changed using the role management settings tool.

Administrator :
  • Core users of the web application with power over the entire system.
  • Can add new users to the system and permit them to access various resources.
  • The Administration module in this application comprises of entities that enable the administrators/privileged users to manage:
    • learners in the system, courses, and bundles
    • learner batches
    • Courses and their contents
    • Question Pools
    • Facilitators
    • Events / announcements / surveys / reports
    • Basic system settings
    • Course categories
    • email templates
    • User roles
    • CMS pages

Sub-Admin:

  • Created by the administrator.
  • Has almost similar rights as the administrator and can manage various modules such as:
    • Learners in the system, courses, and bundles
    • Learner batches
    • Courses and their contents
    • Question Pools
    • Facilitators
    • Events / announcements / surveys / reports
    • CMS pages
    • Basic system settings
    • Course Categories

Tutor:

  • Users who will be adding their courses to the web application.
  • The administrator will assign the login credentials to the tutors.
  • Each tutor/teacher will have his or her own profile on the application and can manage:
    • Course (assigned as well as created by a tutor)
    • Learners under the assigned course
    • Learner batches
    • Question Pools
    • Reports
    • Course categories
    • Event

Content Editor:

  • Has access to the content management system and other functionalities that require application updates on a daily basis.
  • Can manage:
    • Course (assigned as well as created)
    • Question Pools
    • Course categories
    • Event

Institute Manager:

  • Assigned to manage a particular branch and the batches coming under it
  • Can Manage:
    • Courses
    • Learners under the assigned branch
    • Question Pools
    • Reports
    • Course categories
    • Custom Events and News Feed
    • Marketing
    • Batches under the assigned branch
  • Cannot customize the website design
  • Cannot manage bundles
  • Cannot manage facilitators or other branches

Learners:

  • End-users of the system.
  • Users who would access the course contents on the system.
  • Can self-enroll to courses and start learning if the course allows self-enrolling facility.
  • Can have course level discussion forums for clarifications within the system.
  • Would be able to attend an online Test.
  • Each learner will have their own profile.
  • Will be able to login into the system using their email ID and password.
  • Once the learner purchases or is enrolled in a course, they shall be able to start accessing the course.
